HERITAGE OPEN DAYS

Sign up now for Heritage Open Days

Capability Brown sites large and small are being encouraged to take part in the UK's biggest heritage festival, with a range of support on offer to those who sign up.

Heritage Open Days celebrates the country's fantastic history, architecture and culture; offering people the chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences.

This year's event will take place between 8-11 September, with a special focus on green spaces. Heritage Open Days is one of the Capability Brown Festival 2016's partners, and is also celebrating VisitEngland/VisitBritain's Year of the English Garden.

To take part, sites must fulfil four criteria. In return, Heritage Open Days offers a wide range of benefits, including free public liability insurance; free materials to help promote events; free guidance on the phone or by email, and access to networking events.

You can also sign up as a volunteer, helping to open up sites and run events in your area.

To find out more please see the Heritage Open Days website, or email info@heritageopendays.org. Remember to register your site before the closing date of August 1.

Heritage Open Days is managed by the National Trust and funded by players of People's Postcode Lottery and Historic England.
