Special viewing of new film at kinukulture

Dear Blogger

Message from James Bond, no less - retired presenter at Shropshire Radio and now doing his bit for kinokulture, Oswestry`s Independent Cinema

London director showcases his film in Oswestry

Coup for the Oswestry Film Society - June 8th

Please join us to welcome film director Matt Bauer to Oswestry - the man behind a new docu-drama that's attracting worldwide media attention.
As we await the announcement of who will play the new 007, THE OTHER FELLOW looks at the highs and lows of people actually called James Bond. From the James Bond, who's made his life reflect that of the fictional spy, to the one in prison - and many in between - the film is both intriguing and entertaining (with a decent twist too) that should leave you shaken and stirred. The Oswestry Film Society's own James Bond is delighted to bring Matt Bauer - fresh from his launches in London and other exotic places - to a more cosy Shropshire premiere. Please support us in this coup for Oswestry.

Park Hall Farm Dinosaur Experience

Dear Blogger,

Message from Farmer Richard at Park Hall Countryside Experience

Join us for a dinosaur adventure this half term!

Our half term activities kick off tomorrow until Sunday 4th June - and you won't want to miss them. We're going to have a T-Rex-cellent time...

The farm is going back in time with Jurassic Week!

Dora the Dino will be here to meet you every day. There will also be walkabouts with the newly born baby dinos.

And you can watch our hilarious daily dino race around the outdoor play areas!

Win Prizes!

If you take part in a fantastic fossil dig, you can choose your favourite fossil to take home with you.

Over in the woodland, the dinosaurs have laid some eggs, so we're asking mini explorers to seek out the golden egg, which will reveal a secret password to win a mini dino gift.

And we'll also be running a dino footprints quiz in the explorers' barn, with a chance of winning an annual membership.
Everything is Included

All the Dino activities are included in our general admission prices, which include access to all our indoor and outdoor play areas, barrel train rides, tractor rides, animals, role play village, sand and water play, music room, trenches and science area.

We want to help entertain families over the half term with a jam-packed day out that offers exceptional value for money.

We really hope to see you down on the farm this half term!

Remember advance online tickets are £1.50 cheaper than at the gate.

Purchase tickets at www.parkhallfarm.co.uk.

Pedal the Borders charity bike ride

Dear Blogger,

The way of sending out messages to the Mailing List by addressing them to `Dear name` has, on the whole, elimated BT from spitting back so many of what I send out - until I was stupid enough to forward an email from the Lingen Davies fundraiser!  Here it is again without her details.

Message forwarded by Colleen, West Felton Newsletter.

The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, are hosting a cycling sportive for a third consecutive year this September and I wondered if we might be able to promote the event in your next distribution? Pedal the Borders offers three routes to choose from; 25km, 60km and 100km so it is an inclusive event for all types of cyclists. Children over the age of 12 can take part in 25km route as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

All money raised from this event will go towards improving and enhancing cancer services in our region of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales. Each year 4000 people are diagnosed with cancer in our region, Lingen Davies fund equipment and support services to make sure they receive the best possible treatment.

Since our first event in 2021, we have raised over £70,000, and we want to continue to raise vital funds by getting as many people there as we can in 2023. We do have a small marketing budget for this event, if there is a cost involved in placing an advertisement but of course are very grateful for any discounts/charity rates you may be able to offer.
