May Half Term

Join us at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings where kids go free into The Mill exhibition this spring half term! Enjoy a free activity trail around the site where you can learn more about the historic site, the world's first iron-framed structure - the grandparent of the modern skyscrapers.

There will also be a range of drop in children's activities available.

Flaxmill Friday - 9 June 7pm to 9pm

Start your weekend with a free after hours event at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings - the grandparent of modern skyscrapers.

Singer/songwriter Gregory S Davies will be performing his own acoustic blues folk music with virtuoso guitarist, Dan Roberts, in Turned Wood Café. This is a rare chance to see the touring musician in his home county.

You can visit The Mill exhibition free of charge. Have a go at making a rag rug - discover the basics of this traditional recycling craft and learn a new way to reuse fabric scraps and rags. This is available for the first 20 attendees from 7pm to 8pm and all materials are supplied.

This is a free event, there is no need to book in advance.

Guided Tours

Go on a Behind-the-Scenes guided tour at this iconic landmark of the Industrial Revolution and dig deeper into the past, present and future of the building that changed skylines across the world forever.

Enjoy a guided tour led by one of our expert volunteers. In a group of up to 12, people will be taken around the grounds and hear all about the buildings; from their beginnings, to their adaptation over time and recent restoration.
