Dear Blogger

I have been asked by Jane Barker in Yeaton to pass on information about this ingenious idea,

Please see the 4 attachments for more detailed information but SVS Oswestry life gives a very good resume of the event.

SHROPSHIRE VIRTUAL SHOW - www.shropshirevirtualshow.com

This is specifically aimed at sole traders who might normally be visiting Fayres and Shows with a small stand.  I also have the flyers about the different competitions which if you don't mind, I will attach as well.

1. The website is live and looking amazing – there is a shopping village and it is £35 to purchase a stand – bargain!  We all know people with little home businesses, crafts, food or something that they sell at shows or fayres – can you forward the shopping village link and flier to them please. https://shropshirevirtual.expofp.com/

2. Secondly we have a heap of competitions – in order to engage as widely as possible with the public – there are only 3 weeks left for people to enter and the wider we can share these the better – we could do with your help to do this please.  There really is something for everyone, if it is not for you, then please can you share it with people who will enjoy it  – whizz an email around the office, or to a few clients? if you are not a gardener, share it with people in the village who are, if you don't want to video your dog, ask the children to, and if parents and grandparents have a talent that they would not usually have shouted about, encourage them to let the grandchildren video them and let us all enjoy it! www.shropshirevirtualshow.com just go into competitions tab and it is all there for you...

Please ask any questions or ask for more info. or give us suggestions of how we can penetrate every bit of Shropshire with the message.  Local radio and Newspapers are fully on board and sharing and we have a little team on social media, but nothing beats the PERSONAL TOUCH.   The competitions are only open to enter for another 3 weeks so it is now or never!

In the main arena there is a great variety of performance throughout the day – from cooking with Marcus Bean, celebrity chef, and Saliha Mahmood Ahmed who won masterchef in 2017, to Theatrick Horse Productions, an equestrian arts company; from Upper Cut Fight Company a film fight stunt company to Paul "silky" White the comedian; from a virtual choir to a circus and many more yet to confirm.  This moves on into the evening music entertainment with demos in cocktail making from Ludlow gin and a presentation from Tanners wines to help you enjoy!!  Invite people into your garden on the evening of 22nd and share the fun?  There are more things being added all the time.

In "Through the keyhole" enjoy sneaky behind the scenes "visits" to some of Shropshire's top tourist attractions – they have all struggled with Covid19 closure and are whetting your appetite to get people visiting again – places you have been, places you didn't know exisited...

The competition entries are live on the website:
There is a horse arena – with lots of competitions for all abilities and demos from a
Four star eventer, a blacksmith and a paralympian gold medalist among others.
There is a dog show – photo and video entries to cater for all tastes – everyone has a dog that could enter one of the categories, and again demos in between with useful hints and tips like "how to stop your dog jumping up" There will be highlights commentated by one of Shropshire's great wits.
There is an arts and crafts tent – with winning entries going to the Weston Park Gallery of Discovery Exhibition in the Granary funded by Arts Council England in September and lots for summer holiday kids to enjoy, enter and win.  Demos from some of the counties premier artists and craftsmen
Shropshire's got talent speaks for itself – whether you were born with a talent, spent years developing one or learnt to play Bobby Shaftoe on the comb through your nostrils during lockdown!! something for everyone
The final competition is the Open Gardens – so many people have beautiful gardens that they have not been able to share this summer – just take an iphone for a walk around your garden, fill in the anonymised form and share what you have created.  Chelsea gold winning Caspar Gabb is one of the judges in the competition and will also take you on a tour of his fantastic garden.

There are 200 business stands in the virtual shopping village for a great shopping experience, or for those wanting to book a stand they just need to go to https://shropshirevirtual.expofp.com/ choose a stand and follow the online payment instructions.
