Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, coming events

Dear Blogger,

Who knew the Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings led the way to today`s multi story skyscrapers?  I can really recommend the exhibition they have there - and the cakes at the cafe!

Jubilee Tower Tours

Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings are pleased to announce a new guided tour - the chance to climb to the viewing gallery at the top of the Jubilee Tower!

This opportunity is one of the most exciting developments in the restoration project, offering fantastic views of Shrewsbury, and the surrounding countryside beyond from the eighth storey of the building.

Getting Here

Parking is very limited on site so please walk, cycle or use the park and ride service or public transport wherever possible. Parking is time limited to 4 hours. If you feel you are going to be longer than 4 hours on the day, please register your vehicle in the shop or café for a longer stay.

The Harlescott park and ride service runs every 20 minutes and drops off and collects by the Flaxmill Maltings.

Relaxed Sessions

After feedback, Relaxed Sessions will now be running from 4pm to 5pm! If you would prefer to visit at a quieter time, relaxed sessions run on the first Saturday of every month.

The Mill exhibition capacity is lowered to allow for a calmer environment, audio is lowered and our team is able to provide a more informal and responsive service to support you as best as possible.

October Half Term

Join us at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings for free kids' Halloween activities every day (Monday to Friday) during half term.

Learn about cats, bats, rats and the important roles they all played at the Flaxmill and the creation of iron ore on this historic site, the world's first iron-framed structure – the grandparent of the modern skyscrapers.

On Tuesday 31 October, Shropshire Spellwright, Jean Atkin will be creating personalised Halloween spells!
