The British Hen Welfare Trust has put out a plea:
Calling all hen lovers! We are able to save the lives of 300 hens in Wrexham on Sunday, but only 55 of them have homes to go to. Their bags are packed and we are desperate not to let them down. Please, if you can help, make sure you are registered and then call 01884 860084. Let's give these girls the best possible start to the new year!

Watching these hens, which usually come from large, indoor caged units, learn to explore the great outdoors can be fascinating and very rewarding.
If you can't take any birds but have an old hen house or small shed hanging around please let me know.
