Dyffryn Ceiriog Male Voice Choir at Moreton Hall School Community Centre

Dear Blogger

Message from Kelly Parsons, Moreton Hall School Community Theatre.

æThereÆll be a Welcome in the HolroydÆ: Dyffryn Ceiriog Male Voice Choir Raise the Roof on the new Community Theatre

With the external building work now complete, thanks to Oswestry based Jones Brothers, itÆs time to raise the curtain and the roof on the Holroyd Community Theatre and how better to set the tone for the performances to come than the acclaimed Dyffryn Ceiriog Male Voice Choir.

The choir will be one of a variety of performances from local groups at æChristmas at The HolroydÆ this Saturday, 7th December. As well as pupils from Selattyn Primary School, St Martins Primary School, Moreton Hall and Face2Face Performance Academy, the evening will include guest appearances by Coronation Street stars Ian Bartholomew and Ian Puleston Davies. Christmas sparkle, mulled wine and mince pies and the announcement of the winners of the Holroyd Poetry Competition will be on the programme for the evening.

Produced by acclaimed Theatre Director and Artistic Director of the Holroyd, Loveday Ingram, æChristmas at The HolroydÆ will be a first opportunity for the local community to fill the stage and auditorium of their brand new venue. Ahead of the theatreÆs formal launch in June 2020, this candle-lit occasion gives a fabulous opportunity to see the completed space before the technical fitting begins.

Coronation StreetÆs Geoff Metcalfe, aka actor Ian Bartholomew, will take a break from his latest story line to add showbiz glitz to the occasion. He will be joined by CorrieÆs former builder, Owen Armstrong aka Ian Puleston Davies.

For Artistic Director Loveday ôThe support of local actors Ian Puleston Davies and Ian Bartholomew is a terrific endorsement of everything we are aspiring to achieve at The Holroyd, both for local participants and audiences.

For Ian Bartholomew ôThis first class professional space will open doors and provide opportunities for many local people. I am delighted to be part of this first public performance in this stunning new theatreö

For Dyffryn Ceiriog Male Voice Choir Musical Director, Helen Rayner, this promises to be the beginning of a special relationship ôThe male voice choir are honoured to be taking part in such a special event - it promises to be a wonderful evening of entertainmentö

æChristmas at The HolroydÆ performances are on Saturday, 7th
December at 5.00pm and 7.30pm.
