RUYTON XI TOWNS PARISH COUNCIL NEWSLETTER UPDATE
In light of the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, residents may be interested in the following information about Books of Condolence. We will add other information to the Parish Council website as necessary.
If residents would like to leave a message of sympathy, there is an online condolence book at Royal.uk. Books of condolence are also available to sign at the following locations close to the parish:
Those who do not have access to the internet or are not able to go to a location to sign a book of condolence, can send handwritten messages or cards to be addressed to Chair of Shropshire Council, Democratic Services, Shirehall, Shrewsbury SY2 6ND. These will be placed in the books of condolence.
Roadworks on the B4397 had been programmed by Shropshire Council, and were due to commence on 19th September 2022, but these have since been cancelled. We are awaiting a new start date for these works and are liaising with Shropshire Council, the contractors Keir, and Arriva to try to ensure the 576 bus service can continue to run during the eventual roadworks.
It has also come to our attention that Shropshire Council had sent letters by post to some residents along the affected route to advise them of the roadworks, but those residents may not have been informed yet of the cancellation of those works. So if you or someone you know has received a letter advising of works on the B4397 starting on 19th September, please disregard this as the works have been cancelled. As soon as we have more information on these works we will share this via our website and other local communication channels.
