History Walk through Ruyton XI Towns

As you know, this weekend is celebrating

                                              HERITAGE OPEN DAYS

As well as St. John the Baptist Church being open, with members of the History Group available to talk about the history of the church and castle,   I will be doing a

                         HISTORY WALK THROUGH THE VILLAGE

Just turn up at the Bridge Inn at 11.30 tomorrow, Saturday 8th September.  The walk will take in the River Perry and Bridge, the Brownhill, Conan Doyle and the old vicarage. 

When we reach the church, Members of the History Group will serve Tea and coffee and  talk on the history of the church and castle.

My walk will resume with a history of the Borough from the centre of the village.

The walk, with refreshment stop, will take about 1 1/2 hours.  Donations to the hospital and school which I support in Zanzibar.

My 35 page booklet, `A Tour of Ruyton XI Towns, Unusual Name, Unusual History` with stories of some important names and families.  Price £3.50
