On Tuesday 21st November, 8 children from our school went on the train to Birmingham to visit Peter's Bookshop to choose a selection of new books for our school library. The Friends of St John the Baptist Primary School kindly gave us some of the money raised at the Ruyton Funfest to spend. We had a brilliant day and have chosen a great selection of books that we are very excited to share with the rest of the school. The children were amazing role models for our school. Well done; we are very proud of you.

Please remember that next week (week commencing Monday 27th November 2017) is the last week of clubs before the Christmas break. All pupils should be collected from school at 3.15pm (3.00pm for Nursery children) from Monday 4th December 2017 onwards, unless you have booked an After School Care Club Session. Many thanks.

Today we are sending home a Leaton Forest Christmas Tree flyer (Leaton Estates are very kindly donating a Christmas Tree to the school this year). Also coming home this afternoon will be a letter to some KS2 pupils regarding a Carol Concert at the Oswestry Visitor and Exhibition Centre; the consent for this trip should be returned no later than Monday 27th November 2017.

This year we raised a total of £426.87 in books sales. This gives us £196.12 with which to purchase books for the school. A HUGE thank you to those parents who helped us to run the Book Fair and to everyone who came along and purchased books.

We are please to announce that our final total for Children in Need 2017 is £310.46. Well done Everyone!

At the end of today, we had counted up £301.17 which will be donated to Children in Need. There is still a small amount to add from Hedgehog Class & the Staffroom and once this has been done, we will share the final total with you. Thank you to everyone who helped at and came to the Disco, donated and bought cakes and sent in donations for own clothes day. This is a SUPER AMAZING amount of money!
