With Easter holidays approaching, time to make hats, decorate eggs and practice rolling and egg and spoon racing.
All activities will go on whatever the weather in/around Church and the Village Hall from 2p.m onwards. But bring decorated hat and egg competition entries at 1.45 to the Village Hall for judging BEFORE 2 p.m. deadline.

Ruyton X1 Towns Decorated Eggs and Easter Sunday Hat Contests
Official Rules
Contest is on Easter Monday, 2nd April (after the egg rolling races) at approximately 2.15p.m.
In/by the Village Hall, Ruyton-X1-Towns.
Registration: in the hall from 1.45 pm onwards and must be BEFORE 2 p.m.:
Fill out a registration form and give entrance fee of 50p. ( No change given!)
Decorated eggs: any decorated ( preferably hardboiled ) egg decorated in any fashion. See * and **.
Classes by Age: under 7 ; 7-9 ; 10 -17; 18 and over
Hats Categories:
1: Age 7 – 12 inclusive
2: Largest
3: Most Glamorous
4: Funniest / Most Original
Eligibility for Hats competition:
a) Contest participants open to ages 7 and older.
b) Any style of hat may be either purchased or borrowed, but hats (and eggs*) not decorated by the entrant personally and unaided will not be considered for prizes.
c) Hats must have added value from their original appearance.
d) Hats must be worn by the contestant in order to be judged.
e) Each hat can only be entered into one category.
f) If there are less than 3 hats ( or eggs **) entered per category/class, the categories will be combined.
g) Contestants may make more than one entry but only one in each category.
i) Prizes will be awarded at about 2:30 p.m. after the egg racing.
Judging:
a) Judges will select Winner and Runner-up in each category only from registered participants.
b) Winning hats will be selected based on effort, creativity and originality.
c) Winners will be announced at the end when all categories have been judged.
d) Eligibility for prizes is limited to the person who signs the entry form.
e) Judges' decisions are final.
