Subject: Shrewsbury Castle Excavation

Starting on Monday 22 July, the inner-bailey at Shrewsbury Castle will be excavated for the first time in its 950+ year history thanks to funding from the Castle Studies Trust.

The dig will be directed by Dr Nigel Baker and will run until Friday 2 August. The Castle will be open to the public throughout the dig (closed 1 August) and you will be able to speak with the dig team and learn more.

On 27 and 28 July, we are holding two open days where there will also be tours of the castle.
