Many thanks to so many of you who showed your support for the National Garden Scheme and visited Beam Cottage on Sunday - at last some reasonable weather! We have 5 gorgeous midsummer gardens to enjoy this coming weekend, including a first time opening for Upper Marshes at Hopton Wafers who will appreciate your support. Beautifully planted with formal and informal areas including many roses and peonies . Many interesting trees and shrubs with large pond and bog garden full of interest. Extensive clematis and topiary collection and courtyard garden. | | | RUTHALL MANOR Ditton Priors, Bridgnorth, WV16 6TN A real favourite with NGS visitors, open on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July (1-6). Themed rooms with clever planting and many rare and interesting trees and plants. The old horse pond is a delight in midsummer and not to be missed. Bumper jigsaw puzzle sale with all proceeds to NGS charities. | | | 2 SCHOOL COTTAGES Hook-a-Gate, Shrewsbury, SY5 8BQ Open on Sunday 7th July (1-5), this delightful garden has so many surprises and so much for visitors to enjoy. Large plant sale as well as amazing homemade refreshments. Many different styles of planting including a large oriental garden plus chickens and pigs; orchard, woodland walks - a great place to all the family to visit on a midsummer afternoon. | | | WINDY RIDGE Church Lane, Little Wenlock, Telford TF6 5BB The accolades for this acclaimed garden are well deserved. Open on Sunday 7th July (12-5) for NGS visitors to enjoy its structure and design as well as its huge range of plants, trees and shrubs intermingled with water features and fascinating sculptures.
