Stargazing tonight - just in time.

Dear Blogger

Apologies for not showing the diagram as an attachment.

Message from Karen, our Little Ness Astronomer.

This message is from our friends at Go Stargazing.  If skies are clear pop out and give the guys a wave!  More info on all things SPACEX can be found here

Dragon launch 27th May

SEE THE SPACEX DRAGON CAPSULE FROM THE UK!

The fantastic website heavens-above.com is predicting the Dragon capsule will be visible from the UK between 21:50 and 21:58 tonight (27/05/20), this presuming the launch takes place at 21:33 (at the time of this post 60% chance of lift off). All times are UK time (British Summer Time).

We are also presuming that the spacecraft will be bright enough to be seen in the evening twilight... To help we attach two graphics showing its expected path across the sky -- where exactly it will appear in the sky it is determined by your observing location.

The further South you are in the UK the higher in the sky it will be. Conversely the further North you are the lower it will be towards the Southern horizon. We've attached graphics based on observers in Darlington (where GSHQ is based) and Swindon (where my folks live!). Clear skies!
