Meeting of Ruyton XI Towns Parish Council 6.7.21

Dear Blogger

Message from Lydia Bardsley, Ruyton XI Towns Parish Clerk.

Ruyton XI Towns Parish Council,

Next meeting 6th July 2021 at 6.30pm, at Ruyton XI Towns Village Hall (not Victoria Room).

Now that remote meetings are no longer lawful, Council meetings must now be held in person, and unfortunately there are still restrictions on public attendance. Please see attached meeting notice and check our previous news post about public attendance. The agenda is attached here and can also be found on the Council's agenda and minutes page of the website. To raise questions or matters for Parish Council consideration, please email/phone the clerk asap (01691 674742, office hours only please). If you feel you need to attend this meeting in-person, please contact the clerk as soon as possible to discuss how we can accommodate you safely, as there will be strict limits on capacity in the hall (latest guidance is only 6 members of the public besides Council and staff). The safety of the local community is of utmost importance, so we hope you will all understand the steps we are having to take to comply with both Local Government legislation as well as covid-19 restrictions.

Kind regards,

Lydia Bardsley
Clerk to Ruyton XI Towns Parish Council

LADS Play reading for frustrated actors

Dear Blogger

Message from LADS for frustrated actors.

CALLING ALL FRUSTRATED ACTORS TO OUR NEXT PLAY READING, 8pm this Tuesday at Llanymynech Village Hall!
Join us for a fun evening reading our very own Cynthia Hilton's Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs of Islington. This is definitely going to be some very silly fun. The sun is shining and we will be outside. Lots of exciting plans in the pipeline too, so come along and chat to our committee members to get some inside information.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

BROWNHILL HOUSE GARDEN OPEN ON SATURDAY

Dear Blogger

Last scheduled NGS Brownhill House garden opening this year

BROWNHILL HOUSE GARDEN OPEN

This coming Saturday, 26th June 10am to 4pm

If you are coming by car, please book your visit https://ngs.org.uk/view-garden/8581

If you are walking or cycling, we would also love you to visit the garden - it is the car parking which is the problem.

It is all so different from the spring garden, with the perennials in flower and the roses looking wonderful.

Remember, we are also open by arrangement until the end of July so if Saturday is not convenient, or you have visitors, do please drop me an email to arrange a visit.

Filmmaking workshops at Qube, Oswestry

Dear Blogger

Message from Qube, Oswestry forwarded by Ingrid of Oswestry Net.

NEW Intermediate Filmmaking Workshops

A series of two 2-hour Zoom workshops developing your filmmaking skills.
Tuesdays 29th June & 6th July, 10.30am-12.30pm (last day for bookings 22nd June)

Each participant will also have a 40-minute remote one-to-one support session following the workshops. This will be an opportunity to address individual questions / projects in more detail.

Outline of the workshops

You've shot and edited your first short film(s). Use different filmmakers' viewpoints to learn how to make more professional pieces. The workshops will look at how to:

Think like a creative producer — Consider the content, style, and tone of the film you're making.
Who is it for? What budget and resources do you have?

Think like a director — What's the story? How can you tell it to your audience creatively? Plan how you'll approach the audio and visual storytelling, using the locations and resources you have.

Think like a camera operator / sound operator — What are the technical challenges you might encounter with the kit you have and where you'll be working? Plan your shoots, recording sessions, and set-ups taking these into account.

Think like an editor — How can you fulfil the brief, and realise the director's plan, with the media you've got? What editing tools do you have to improve on the visuals and sound?

The sessions will include practical time for you to try things out, and plenty of time for questions.

About the workshop leaders

Nick (she/her) and Mike (he/him) are award-winning filmmakers. Their work has screened at international festivals and been broadcast on TV. They've delivered diverse commissions for local and national charities, museums, and arts, community, and heritage organisations, to help raise awareness and promote inspiring projects. They deliver workshops and projects on every aspect of the filmmaking process, from introductory to advanced, and offer bespoke training and support to individuals and organisations.
