Matt will be passing on top tips that lie behind his distinctive style and talking about his feathered friends.
Our Songbirds is the beautiful follow-up, Our GardenBirds, one of our favourite books of 2012. In Our Songbirds, Matt offers more fantastic watercolours and quirky descriptions of British songbirds. In Matt’s world, the peewit sings the blues, and the bittern fills his neck ‘like a tweed pair of bellows’. Distinctive and enchanting, with a songbird for each week of the year, this delightful gift book will appeal to birders, children and adults, and art and design fans alike.
Following the class, Matt will be signing copies of his books. Each book will be signed and drawn in by Matt with any particular bird or message for any occasion. While the event is fully booked, you can pre-order a signed and dedicated copy of Our Songbirds. Please contact us if you would like to do this.

Join the Conversation: open discussions on budgets and public services
The public sector in Shropshire faces huge spending cuts in the coming years. The changes that ensue will undoubtedly impact on your local services, so we want to hear from you and understand what you want and need from public services.
Do you have ideas as to how things could run more efficiently? What services do you consider a priority? We want to hear from you.
We are holding a series of events around the county where you can “Join the Conversation” and pose questions to senior representatives from Shropshire Council, the police, the fire and rescue service, Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group, and Jobcentre Plus.
The evenings are scheduled as follows:
Monday 16 September 2013 – Castle View – Council Chamber, Oswestry
Tuesday 17 September 2013 - Craven Arms Community Centre
Wednesday 18 September 2013 – Tasley Village Hall, Bridgnorth (WV16 4NW)
The new venue for the Bridgnorth event, Tasley Village Hall, replaces the previously-announced Westgate.
The events will be presented by Eric Smith of BBC Radio Shropshire. Eric has a keen interest in the future of the county, and will be on hand to help the audience communicate their questions to the panel.
Keith Barrow, Leader of Shropshire Council said:
“I really want to hear what Shropshire people think about the spending cuts and any other issues that affect their lives in Shropshire, so why not come along to our public meetings and let us know how you feel about living in Shropshire.”
For more information, or to submit a question prior to the event*, please click here to email the organising team.
* – We cannot guarantee to answer all questions submitted in this way. Questions will be considered by the team to ensure there is balanced questioning among the five panelists, and avoid duplication.
