This message came from Aggie Caesar Homden - Red faces all round. Dear Yoland, I am concerned that unhelpful rumours are being spread which is causing alarm in the community. I asked Inspector Klair for a statement, therefore could you please forward this email to all on your mailing list to reassure residents. Many thanks, Aggie INSPECTOR RICK KLAIR said: "Officers investigated a report that a young girl was followed by a man in a white van while walking in Stanwardine at around 7.15pm on Wednesday. Although the report was made in good faith, there is no evidence she was followed either by a vehicle or a man on foot and we are satisfied no incident of concern took place. "I am concerned the matter has been described in social media as an attempted abduction and anxious to dispel this rumour. I would reassure residents that this is not the case and reiterate no offences occurred. "This report was clearly made with good intent but following our inquiries it turned out the youngster was mistaken. However, we always encourage people to phone the police if they have any worries but in this case there was clearly no cause for concern." Cllr.
