Century Club

Message from Colin Case.

Last Century Club Draw for this year. Well done the winners! We'll be collecting again for 2017 soon after Christmas. We have lost a few members this year, so I have some numbers available for new members.
£100.00 85 Dave Peate
£25.00 6 Mrs Mathers
£20.00 21 Hazel Yates
£10.00 9 Dorothy Needham
£5.00 57 Mrs Fraser

For anyone who is not sure what the CENTURY CLUB is all about, Colin has explained it all.

The Century Club is a Licenced Draw that raises money to maintain our Village Hall (part financing improvements such as refurnished toilets etc.)
There are (obviously!) 100 numbers that are "sold" for £12 per year, making total sales of £1,200 per year.
Each month 3 numbers are drawn in some sort of public gathering - often the Cafe, or Extend Class or even the Dog.
These numbers attract a prize of either £25 or £10 or £5, making a total of £40 in prizes each month. But December is different - we have five prizes - £100, £25, £20, £10 and £5 making £160 in December. So total prize money in the year is £600, leaving a contribution of £600 each year to Village Hall Funds.
The mathematicians among you will have worked out that the chances of winning are FAR better than the Lottery (although the prizes are a little less!)
Most people keep their numbers from year to year - many have kept the same number for 12 or 15 years.
But sadly we lose a few members each year, so I usually have a few numbers to offer to a new home.

Tell your friends and contact Colin - If anyone wants a number please contact me.
