15th May and Whittington's Fantasia are coming up fast! | | | | | There's barely a month to go before Whittington's "Fantasia on a British theme" gets under way, so it's high time to get your tickets, if you haven't already. The easiest way is to order online and print them yourself. Otherwise pop into Rowanthorn in Oswestry or Whittington Post Office, or send a cheque to the festival office. If you are under 25 you can get your free tickets by ringing 01691 657986.
This year we've broken the mould and the festival features the work of fifteen very different British composers spanning 300 years of musical history. This exciting and varied programme will be performed as usual by an extraordinary ensemble of fifteen international artists, including the Elias Quartet and other familiar faces. Appearing for the first time are Becky Jones, principal viola of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and Belgian violinist Liesbeth Baelus (right).
Thank you to everyone who supported our excellent fund-raising concert in mid-March which raised over £500. If you are a Sponsor or a member of our Friends Scheme, you will be receiving your free copy of the Souvenir Festival Programme in a couple of weeks.
