Join the Royal Wedding party

Derwen's The Orangery Restaurant

Be part of the celebrations for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's big day with an afternoon tea fit for royalty at The Orangery Restaurant. Arrive from 11am for a glass of bubbly followed by a live screening of the wedding accompanied by a specially designed Trio of Desserts. Tickets £10. The Orangery Bar will be open for the occasion. Tissue Paper & Hot Wax Techniques craft course

The Art Centre, Derwen College

Experiment making patterns and images with tissue paper, hot wax and ink techniques. A fun day for individuals or groups of friends or colleagues. Derwen Summer Fete

Derwen College, Gobowen, near Oswestry

Join the annual Derwen Summer Fete at a brand new location in the college's leisure and shopping area for 2018.

Come rain or shine, there's plenty of fun for all the family for visitors joining Derwen College students, staff and supporters for the fete.

Take part in sports and games galore, take a ride on the miniature train, try one of the have-a-go crafts sessions, shop at the wide selection of stalls and enjoy some tasty treats including barbecue, home-made cakes, ice-cream and much more. Other highlights include a student performance of 'Come Fly With Us' performed by students, and an art exhibition showcasing the work of our talented Creative Studies learners.

To top it all, there's a grand raffle with a host of fabulous prizes including FitBit, a washer dryer, Spa Day for two, and a coach trip to Liverpool to see the Terracotta Warriors.

Located in the college grounds' DC Shopping & Leisure area, there's also the opportunity to visit The Orangery Restaurant, Garden Café, and garden centre.

Makaton Beginners' Workshop

Derwen College

Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people to communicate. It is designed to support spoken language and the signs and symbols are used with speech, in spoken word order. For those who have experienced the frustration of being unable to communicate meaningfully or effectively, Makaton really can help; Makaton enables toddlers, children and adults to connect with other people and the world around them.
