Flu and Covid Booster Vaccination

We are starting to invite patients over 50 and in the at risk groups for a combined flu and Covid booster appointment – this is in line with recommendations for patients to have the two vaccines together where possible.  Patients will be invited to these clinics 180 days after their second dose, and in order of priority according to the JCVI cohorts as with the initial doses.

Due to the volume of patients that require vaccinating, we are working collaboratively with Shrewsbury Primary Care Network practices as we did previously.  These clinics will be running at the weekends right through to December at Severn Fields Medical Practice.  This is the same venue where the initial COVID vaccinations were administered.

Whilst our preference is to hold the clinics at the practice, due to the logistics and the increase to our routine appointment wait times this would cause, it was not possible to do so.  Our clinical and admin team will be supporting the staffing at these clinics.

If you are due your booster you may also receive a text from the National Booking Service which will invite you to book via 119 and will offer appointments in Telford, Market Drayton and Woodside. You can choose to book one of these appointments or wait for us to contact you for a local appointment at Severn Fields vaccination centre.

In the meantime, please give our reception your up to date mobile telephone number, as this is the easiest way for us to invite you.  The preferably way to do this is to email Prescott.surgery@nhs.net with your mobile telephone number.

Thank you for your support.
