Annual Bonfire & great Firework Display in Oswestry

Dear Blogger

Message from David Clough, Oswestry Town Council.

ANNUAL BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS

The Oswestry Annual Bonfire and Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday, 6th November from 6.00 p.m. at Brogyntyn Park, Oswestry.  This highly popular evening will be organised by Oswestry Town Council and the Oswestry Borderland Rotary and is set to be bigger than ever.  The display is now into its second decade and has raised over £90,000 for local good causes.  The Town Mayor, Councillor Mark Jones said "I hope that as many people as possible will come to Brogyntyn Park and enjoy this community event.  The atmosphere is always most enjoyable and by bringing the community together, then we help fundraise for our local good causes. We are most grateful to the Oswestry Borderland Rotary for helping to continue this fantastic event for the town which means such a lot to so many people."

Brogyntyn Park is five and a half acres of parkland occupying the southern slope of the Grade II listed Brogyntyn Estate. It was gifted to Oswestry Town Council by The Fourth Baron Harlech, William Ormsby-Gore, on 11th August 1952. A gentle walk around the Park takes about ten minutes and gives lovely views into the parkland of the neighbouring Estate.
