Autumn Covid booster & Flu vaccination

An important message from the surgery……

Autumn COVID booster and Flu vaccination  programmes.

Last night the department of health announced that the Autumn COVID Booster and FlU vaccination programme will be offered to everyone over 50. We heard this at the same time as everyone else, via the media channels, we have not had anything official from NHS England. Unfortunately this is a common theme that we only learn about updates through the media at the same time as everyone else.

We thought it would be helpful to know, Practices are required to place their flu vaccination orders very early in the year, we confirmed our order for the 2022 programme in January. At this time we were informed that the flu vaccine programme would not include over 50 year olds, and our order, like all other practices was based on this. 

Please rest assured we are confident that we will receive information in the coming days regarding the ordering of the additional vaccines and everyone that is entitled to a flu vaccine will be contacted by the practice advising of the clinics we will be offering. We hope to be able to do this during August, but it will be dependent on when we receive the information.

Please help us, by not contacting the practice to enquire about either the Autumn COVID booster or Flu programme as this will block our telephone lines for patients or carers, who need our attention for booking appointments or other queries. If you have any other COVID vaccine query please contact 119. 

Please rest asssured as soon as we have any information we will update all of our media channels, including our patient information screen,  newsletter  and posters in the practice.
