We have events on throughout the summer - Oswestry's Food & Drink Festival, our Agricultural Show and the spectacular Hot Air Balloon Carnival are sure to bring the fun. Oswestry Food & Drink Festival Next weekend!! 9th/10th of July | |
There will be lots of foodie fun next weekend at Oswestry's Food and Drink Festival. Our town centre streets will be filled with so many delicious treats - street food, local produce, street entertainment and more. Get your taste buds ready to try all sorts of new flavours. A free, family festival with a few surprises along the way! | |
Oswestry Agricultural Show - 6th August | |
Don't miss the fantastic annual Oswestry Agricultural Show. The show dates back to 1862 and celebrates the best of British agriculture, countryside pursuits and provides a varied programme of entertainment for visitors throughout the day. See the Imp motorcycle team, Nick Gregory and his gundog display, livestock competitions, stalls, vintage machinery, falconry, horticulture and so much more. Hot Air Balloon Carnival 20/21st August | |
Voted one of the UK's top 50 free festivals, Oswestry's Hot Air Balloon Carnival has confirmed over 25 hot air balloons in an array of shapes and sizes for the two day carnival weekend! Don't miss the park fly-outs, balloon demonstrations and the famous Saturday evening Night Glow. There will be an array of exciting local entertainment and live music, covering both carnival days - all in Cae Glas Park in the heart of town. Some exciting bookings for this year...Nula Hula, Showstopper Carnival Girls, Olde Time Fun Fair, music by the Hod Rod 55 and much more. There will also be Oswestry's local farmers market over the Carnival weekend. | |
If only walls could talk! Castles and historic attractions near here are fascinating. If you love visiting castles, houses and historic buildings then this is a great place to find them. We have four castles on our doorstep, three of which are National Trust properties. The kids will love all the events they have planned, including a festival of archeology, family play days, outdoor theatre and story telling. There is plenty of outdoor entertainment to be had, so grab your picnic blanket, sit back and enjoy the performance! In the heart of Oswestry, we have Cae Glas Park, with its beautiful flower displays and Wilfred Owen statue. This summer, the park provides a stunning background to a number of free events including 'Panto in the Park - Rumble in the Jungle', 'Family Day', 'Reggae in the Park' and 'Chill in the Park'. | |
There is plenty to jeep the whole family entertained this summer. Park Hall Countryside Experience has events throughout the school holidays. There will be 'Pirates & Princesses', 'Hysterical Historical', 'Dino' and 'Science' weeks, plus Maisy's Maize. The British Ironwork Centre is also a great place to visit with sculpture trails, restaurant & cafe, shopping, adventure play & various activities to keep everyone busy. Or how about a cruise on a narrow boat from Llangollen Wharf or a train trip on one of our four Heritage Railways? | |
