Maona films New Naked Gun & Holy Cow

Dear Blogger

Message from Maona, Oswestry Film Society

WE'RE BACK !

Tickets now on sale as OFS Wednesday nights return

The (new) Naked Gun

Do join us for some nibbles and raise a glass as Oswestry Film Society nights return with a bang on Wednesday February 25 at Oswestry's Maona community cinema.
Liam Neeson deadpans it magnificently in the recent reboot of the unforgettable Naked Gun police parody - from chasing villains to saving the world, all in the mix of laugh out loud gags and buffoonery.
Tickets available via the Maona website

Liam Neeson

We've missed seeing you on Wednesday nights!
The OFS was proud to fill the gap when Oswestry was without a cinema, and we're delighted to be back now that Maona is up and running in the old (and now revamped) Kinokulture building,
First up (Feb 25) is The Naked Gun (2025), as we recommence with the intention of putting a big smile on your faces.
The film's creators have captured the energy and tone of the original Naked Gun series - and they've hit the bullseye with lead star Liam Neeson tremendous in a very different role from his normal straight-action persona.

Coming up...

Next from the Oswestry Film Society is the lovely Holy Cow - winner of the best Youth film at the 2024 Cannes festival.
It centres on a carefree teenager who suddenly has to find ways to make the ailing family farm work after his father dies.
It's funny, romantic, devilish, and stunningly shot in rural France.
We had it scheduled at our former venue, but sadly The Hermon closed before we could show it.
This'll be on Wed March 25 - tickets via the Maona cinema website nearer the time.
Also coming up: the hugely acclaimed I Swear - it'll have you laughing and crying.
