Theatre screenings returning - and more films for May now on sale at Oswestry's Maona cinema

More details and booking links in the stories below.....

Maona cinema website

Great news: the National Theatre Live programme is the latest addition to Maona cinema’s scheduling.

NTL – which bills itself as “the best of British theatre on a screen near you” – started out as a bold experiment in 2009, broadcasting to just 70 cinemas across the UK. Now it's a hugely successful global phenomenon.

What an opportunity: to see, close up on a big screen, the best productions and the top stars from British theatre on your own doorstep, and all at a fraction of the price of a West End ticket in London.

Now Maona has picked up from where the old Kinokulture cinema left off – more announcements will follow, so keep an eye on www.maonacinema.com for NTL nights, as well as all its regular screenings.

OFS news

Supporting Maona, the Oswestry Film Society brings you Wednesday night entertainment.
Next up on May 6 is The Kitchen Brigade, a "feel-good drama set in a hostel for undocumented minors – with a kick of cooking."
A financially hard-up chef takes a job in a canteen - discovering too late that it's a centre for misfit youngsters. But each side learns life-lessons from the other.
A lovely film - in French with subtitles..
And we're really looking forward to bringing you the stylish (and acclaimed) British spy caper Black Bag in June.
