Tomorrow, Wednesday 21st, Shrewsbury will be launching its Christmas Cracker lead up to Christmas, switching on the Christmas lights and start of late night shopping. The event kicks off at 5pm.
A whole host of festive entertainment is planned with performances from; Bicton Heath Primary School; Shrewsbury Handbells; Halfway House Ladies Choir; Shropshire Music Service; Bridgnorth Ukulele Band; St Chad’s Choir; Heart and Soul Community Choir; Of One Accord and Shrewsbury Concert Band.
The popular lantern parade starts off from the Riverside Shopping Centre 6.30pm before heading out to Pride Hill, up Butcher Row, along Fish Street, to High Street and finally culminating in the Square at 7pm for the launch of the Christmas lights.
Throughout the evening there will also be street entertainment on Pride Hill and Santa will be in the Square with his sleigh.
Free Park & Ride and parking at St Julian’s Friars, Frankwell main long stay and Abbey Foregate long stay car parks after 4pm.
