I have seen huge activity by the Openreach Teams as they struggle to bring Infinity to the homes and businesses who are connected directly to the Baschurch Exchange (rather than via the Cabinet in Ruyton XI Towns)
Baschurch (Shrewsbury Road) had two vans this morning and there was another team at Platt Bridge
Yesterday there were teams working on the road from Baschurch towards Weston Lullingfields, and it is now quite common to see them working at the cross-roads where the B4397 meets the B5067 just North of Byways. This is one of the main connection/distribution points.
But clearly they are still meeting all sorts of problems - one of the teams on the Weston Lullingfields road yesterday had "lost" an access cover - finally found buried under 9 inches of grass and top-soil on the verge.
So it's definitely on the way - even to outlying areas.
There are several ISPs that will be able to use the network to bring superfast broadband - including BT of course - but there are several others.
If anyone is thinking of switching to BT Infinity as it becomes available, you might like to be aware of this offer from BT, recently Tweeted by them:-
Get up to £75 worth of Sainsbury's Gift Cards when you recommend our Broadband packages to a friend buff.ly/10QUtQ3
This offer gives Gift Cards to both the new customer and an existing customer who recommends them.
I don't particularly want to promote BT (there are many other potential suppliers of an Infinity service) - but if something is free we might as well have it.
