I will be having freshly cut hay, from a flower rich hay meadow called Ropewalk Meadows, delivered to Bridge Inn Fields in the first or second week of August. This will need to be spread across the site by hand and I’m hoping a lot of you will come to help me.
As the hay dries it will drop its seeds and these will hopefully germinate in our meadow. Ropewalk meadows has a lot of rare and interesting hay meadow plants, including orchids, but we will have to wait and see what gets established.
I will send an email out as soon as I know when we will get the hay. It could be quite short notice as they have to have just the right conditions to do the cutting.
