Risk of grass fires

You may have read in the Shropshire Star about the devastating fire on Grinshill earlier this week.  "200 metres of trees and gorse" were destroyed, needing 50 firefighters to put out the fire.

It is thought that disgarded glass had been the cause of the fire.

We have a similar hill of natural beauty here in Ruyton and in this warm weather many people will be enjoying walking on The Cliffe, as well as Hopton and Nesscliffe Hills.

PLEASE look out for any rubbish, especially bottles, and take it home to your own dustbin.

If you have children, I am sure you have tought them to take their rubbish home but especially at this time please explain the danger of starting fires or leaving bottles around after a party.

Enjoy this wonderful weather.
