Formal confirmation of the current position regarding the risk of closure of Baschurch Fire Station - excellent news.
And a nice note of appreciation from Baschurch Parish Council to neighbouring Parish Councils who supported their campaign to keep it open - including Ruyton XI Towns Parish Council of course.
So a huge thank you to all who registered their concerns in support of the campaign.

At a meeting held on February 6th, at Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, the Strategy and Resources Committee of that service voted unanimously to recommend the removal of the proposal to close fire stations at Baschurch, Prees, Hodnet and Clun from the final stage of their policy regarding cutbacks. The vote was unanimous, and this recommendation will now go forward to a meeting of the Fire Authority Committee on 26th February for final approval.
Councillors John Lloyd and Paul Ridgley from Baschurch Parish Council attended the meeting, and will also attend the meeting on 26th February, to hopefully bring our campaign to a successful conclusion. Not withstanding the result, Baschurch Parish Council would like to place on record its appreciation to all adjoining Councils who have given their invaluable support to this campaign.
Kind Regards
