Severn Trent and their contractor Amey need to close some vital roads in Baschurch in order to lay new water pipes.
Consultations with various bodies are completed (Baschurch Schools and the Fire & Rescue Service, for example) but further discussions are on-going with the bus services, for example - including the school buses and the 576 operator.
The schedule of work is in three phases, planned as follows. But note that the plan may change as a result of further consultation. It should be noted that although the roads will be closed to through traffic, arrangements are being made to ensure that local residents can always access their own property (though maybe not from the direction they would prefer) and the roads will remain open to pedestrians.
Phase 1 - Shrewsbury Road north from Newtown Gardens to the cross-roads near Byways - 17th July 2014 until end August (6 weeks)
Phase 2 - Station Road from the crossroads near Byways to nearly the Old Pub (Boreatton Arms as was) - 8th September until end September (3 weeks)
Phase 3 - Shrewsbury Road north from Milford Road to Kings Drive - School Summer Holidays 2015
Further details will be issued in due course, including the (long) diversion routes. A Public Meeting will also be held in Baschurch Village Hall nearer the start time.
