Two May gardens open for National Gardens Scheme
Millichope Park (Munslow, between Bridgnorth & Ludlow) will be open for Shropshire NGS on Sunday 1st May (2-5pm): 14 acres of lakes, 18th century cascades, swathes of bluebells, woodland walks (dogs welcome) and chance to see the restoration of the unique walled garden and glasshouses. Also home to Bouts Violas nursery. Admission: £5 for adults, free for children. Teas available.
Also open on Sunday 1st May, Oteley, at Ellesmere, overlooking the Mere; 10 acres of rhododendrons, azaleas, sweeping lawns, specimen trees with fantastic views across the water. Admission: £3 for adults, free for children. Teas available.
Visitors to National Gardens Scheme (NGS) gardens will have the satisfaction of knowing that their entrance fee is supporting valuable causes, as monies collected at the garden gate go to NGS beneficiary charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Hospices UK and the Carers Trust as well as many other vital nursing and caring charities
