Oswestry Rotary Club's event organiser, Peter Hill, says "We have been working for some years to broaden the coverage in our Health Awareness Day, as we've realised how valuable it can be for members of the public to see at one time and in one place the work carried out by the many organisations providing advice and support to the local community on health and related issues.
By moving this year's Health Awareness Day on 23 April 2016 from the Memorial Hall to the much larger space available in the Library, we have the opportunity to make this really come true for the first time. Several hundred people visit the Library every Saturday, so we're expecting our event to benefit many.
As you can see from the attached poster, with major new contributions from the Library itself, Derwen College and many other organisations, our venue this year means we can present displays and activities relevant to all age-groups. Come and visit our stallholders and enter the Treasure Hunt and you may win a hamper from The Derwen or a month's membership of Oswestry Leisure Centre.
In particular, you may like to join in one of the Short Walks from the Library at 11.00am and 2.00pm led by the Walking for Health team. Wear suitable shoes!
There will be other exciting things going on in addition to those shown on the poster. Come and find out for yourself (and bring a guest) any time between 10.00am and 2.00pm on April 23rd!"
