Oswestry Library loads of events in March

Oswestry Family & Local History Group - Monday 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 March 10-12 noon

Friday 6, 13, 20, 27 March 1.30-4pm

Oswestry Family and Local History volunteers run a twice-weekly advice service at Oswestry Library. Teams of trained, knowledgeable volunteers work alongside library staff to help both newcomers and experienced researchers to get the most from the expanded range of resources available. No booking required, just drop in.

One on One computer help at the library!

Did you know that we have a team of volunteers who provide one on one IT support for customers at the library? They will sit with you, either using your own device or one of our library computers, and help you to work through whatever issue it is you're having, be it setting up an email address, or learning to navigate your first smartphone. The support is completely free, but MUST be pre-booked as volunteers are available by appointment only. At present, bookable sessions are available each week on a Tuesday morning, Wednesday all day, and Friday morning. Ask staff to book your place.

æBe a Better FishÆ Careers drop-in  -  Tuesday & Friday mornings 10-12noon

Join Paul Newman from æBe a Better FishÆ to get free advice on how to turn your passions into a career.

Library Living Room!  Starting 6 March, running throughout March.

Part living room, part art exhibition! Oswestry Library and Be a Better Fish are partnering with local organisations to create a unique shared space in the library. Like all good living rooms, it will be filled with curiosities, memories, photographs and great conversation. Stay tuned to hear who will be visiting, and feel free to drop in to pull up a chair.

Smashing Shakespeare!  -  Tuesday 3, 17 March 10.30am-12noon

If you were put off Shakespeare at school û or already love Shakespeare - come and try this! We will explore the story, de-bunk the language, get the play on its feet û and have some fun!

Learning at Lunchtime: Hypnobirthing!  -  Saturday 7 March, 2-3pm

This talk & customer Q&A session will supply insight into a KG Hypnobirthing course and how it can help you and your partner to remain calm and relaxed and prepare for a positive birth. ú3, please book.

Hearing Aid Clinic  -  Wednesday 4 March 10-12noon

Hearing aid clinic run by NHS trained volunteers. Drop in to have your hearing aid cleaned and serviced. No booking required.

Books Aloud  -  Tuesday 3, 17, 31 March, 2-3pm

Come and relax with a cup of tea and listen to an hour of reading aloud, aimed at adults. Free, no booking required.

Finding your Voice poetry workshop  -  Wednesday 4, 11, 18, 25 Mar (1 Apr) 4-5.30pm
Come and explore finding your voice and build your confidence through poetry. No experience or talent required, and you donÆt have to share your work. ú2 per session (please book) Please arrive promptly at 4pm.

Chatter & Natter - Thursday 5, 19 March 10-11am

We are creating a space for people to talk, whether it is for five minutes or an hour while you drink a brew. Free, no booking required. Just come along!

Dungeons & Dragons at the Library - Saturday 14 March, 9.30 for under 16s, 1pm for over 16s.

Knit for Life is a local knitting charity supporting direct aid distributions of knitting to many countries around the world.  We mostly make blanket squares, hats and toys and sew together squares to make blankets. No booking required, just come along.

Oswestry Library reading group is looking for members! Just drop in. No booking required.

CarerÆs Trust -  Thursday 26 March, 10:30-11:30am

A free social group for registered and unregistered carers. Come along for tea and a chat. No booking required.

Board Game CafÚ!  -  Saturday 28 March, 10-1pm

A board game bonanza, suitable for all ages! Bring your own, or play one of the huge collection available. No booking required.
