Christmas meeting on the Brownhill Wall

Dear Blogger

Many thanks to those who replied to my email about meeting on the Brownhill Wall yesterday, saying it was a lovely idea but regretted they could not join us.

Some 20 other people arrived, bearing something to sit on a damp wall and a drink of something warm and Chrismassy.   It really was a delightful gathering, especially of new people to the village, and being able to introduce everyone to new friends and neighbours - AND two people, very new to the village, who were just out for a walk, have joined the mailing list.

Everyone enjoyed a very jolly 3/4 of an hour with lots of laughs, and are keen to repeat the gathering next year.

I hope you all had a pleasant day yesterday - a Christmas which will doubtless be remembered for a long time to come.  My very best wishes for a better year in 2021.

Thank you,

Yoland

The strangest Christmas ever is coming to everyone this year.  Many people will either be on their own or a couple who cannot have the family come to them or unable to go to the family to celebrate.

The wall in front of Brownhill House is really a very long seat.  If you have nothing planned on Christmas Day morning, why not come along,

between 11.30 and 12noon, with a drink, claim a space. Toast a better year 2021 & wave to each other with something festive.
