Qube July newsletter

Dear Blogger

Message from Qube, Oswestry - July newsletter.

Latest news and updates from Qube

Hello from us all at Qube...

Welcome to our July newsletter! As things cautiously start to return to normal it's been really nice to see more people back in our gallery and using our services.

We have a few new faces starting at Qube this month. Gemma Aston has joined us as our Arts Development Officer and Sarah Nelsey has just started as our Arts Engagement Officer. Thirzah Deakin has joined the Big Local team as 3P Big Local Community Development Officer and will be based at Qube.

We have lots of arts activities starting soon, including exhibitions, summer workshops and projects. Our course programme will be returning again in the autumn. If you're interested in delivering courses at Qube we would love to hear from you.

We have had a great response from members of our social groups who are really glad to be back in Qube. Those who are not quite ready to leave home yet are still receiving regular phone calls and activity packs.

Free transport is still available for anyone struggling to get to vaccine appointments. This transport is available to anyone, regardless of age or accessibility needs. Call Dial-a-Ride on 01691 671571 or email info@qube-oca.org.uk for details and bookings. Don't forget, you need a second vaccine to get the full protection.

Please feel free to call or email us if we can help you or someone you know. You can contact us on 01691 656882 or email info@qube-oca.org.uk.

Here is some of our latest news and services...

Online Exhibition: Work in Progress
We loved having Gemma Manning in the gallery in June as part of our Work in Progress project. Funded by the Tampon Tax, this project created a social group where women can get together and be creative in a non-judgmental space. An exhibition of some of the groups work can now be found online here...

Thinking of volunteering?
Our Volunteer Centre can help you find a voluntary role to match your needs. There are many varied roles available now.

We also provide free advertising for organisations who need volunteers. Full details can be found here...

Get Creative
We'll be adding more free activities to our website to help everyone stay creative at home. These activities have been commissioned for us by artists from across the country. All are free to use and download. Get inspired and take a look at all the creative ideas here...

Oswestry Youth Music Collective
Qube's brand-new music project Oswestry Youth Music Collective, funded by 'Youth Music', provides creative music opportunities for young people in Oswestry and the surrounding area. The project will run as a FREE ten week block, one session per week for ages 13-17. Further details can be found here...

Would you like to join our team?
We're looking for volunteer drivers and passenger assistants to join our Dial-a-Ride team! Can you spare a day a week to help those who can't access transport to stay as independent as possible? We're also looking for volunteers to help at our social groups too! Full training is provided. Get in touch for a chat or more information.

Lateral Flow Tests
Did you know you can pick up Lateral Flow Tests from Qube? You don't need to have symptoms or a particular reason to pick up a testing kit. Testing just a couple of times a week can help to ensure people are not spreading the virus asymptomatically. Ask at reception for your kit. Full instructions are provided.
