Gardens open for NGS this weekend

Dear Blogger

Shrewsbury Delights!
Joining the National Garden Scheme in Shropshire for the first time, the combined opening of two delightful urban gardens in Shrewsbury - 74 Conway Drive & 12 Colley Close (pictured below) - on Friday 16th July (5-9pm) make a date now for this evening opening!
Both these beautifully designed and planted gardens demonstrate just how much can be achieved in urban gardens with imagination and flair!  Both feature clever use of pots and containers, creating intimate corners plus the use of water in both gardens is fundamental to their design.  There are wonderful collections of koi carp and bonsai as well.  Please note: on-street parking is at 74 Conway Close only with free shuttle bus available between the gardens or visitors can walk or cycle (approx 1 mile).  Visitors should book a ticket in advance to these gardens:  https://ngs.org.uk/view-garden/37400

Refreshments, Plants & Books For Sale!
The best things come in small packages!
More proof that the most delightful gardens in our county come in small spaces packed with interest, life and enjoyment!  At 153 Willoughbridge (nr Market Drayton), open on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th July (1-5pm on both days), this is demonstrated to the full!  As seen on BBC Gardeners World, and opening for the first time for the National Garden Scheme, this beautiful, cottage-style garden is packed full of scented insect friendly plants, including  English roses, grasses and herbaceous perennials, a woodland-jungle garden consisting of huge scented tree lilies, tree ferns, acers, bamboo and bananas, 2 green roofs, 3 bug hotels and a large Victorian greenhouse full of traditional and exotic plants - there is so much to see and enjoy at this very special garden.  Visitors should pre-book tickets to this garden: https://ngs.org.uk/view-garden/42158
