Dear Music MOBSupporters,
A brief return to Christmas ...

St Oswald's Parish Church was at capacity for the Fron Male Voice Choir's Charity Christmas Concert in December which featured combined Music MOBchoirs from Holy Trinity and Bryn Offa Schools. The school choirs performed a nativity cantata called "Star!", and together with the Fron sang Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride, complete with percussion sound effects. This raised over £2000 for Music MOBand we are very grateful to the Fron Choir for inviting us to take part.
Happy New Year!

This term we are pleased to welcome Weston Rhyn Primary School as a new partner. Eight young guitarists have already started lessons there and a demonstration of flute and clarinet has taken place, so we shall be starting 6 new woodwind players by the end of January.

Music MOB began because of a decline in state school entries into the Oswestry Youth Music Festival. Our aim is to kick start and develop instrumental and vocal lessons in local state schools to redress the balance. Therefore, we are delighted that we have approximately 20 Music MOB entries this year including woodwind, cello, singing, choirs and a recorder ensemble. It would be nice to bring home a trophy or two, so fingers crossed!

Martin is one of the UK's most loved and respected pianists. With his extensive repertoire, consummate musicianship and immediate connection with audiences, he is in great demand as a concerto soloist, chamber musician and recitalist.  Martin has a long-standing and very warm relationship with Oswestry having played here on countless occasions as part of the Oswestry School Recital Series.  Music MOB is privileged that Martin has agreed to be the Charity's Patron.
