| | Can you help? Volunteers needed We're asking for help to run our Tourist Information Centre. Our funding has been reduced this year, which means that we're not open as much as we'd like. Can you spare a few hours to work alongside Karen and Ruth meeting visitors? Or, are you a whizz with social media? If you can spare a few hours to help us, we'd love to hear from you. | | | Oswestry carparks accept online payments Please tell your visitors - All Oswestry town carparks now accept online payments via Mi Permit - an electronic payment system for pay & display car parking. Each electronic parking permit is digital, so there's no need to display a ticket. Simply pay via text, telephone, smartphone app or online. Cash still accepted too. | | | On Monday, 20th February 2023, work will begin to make improvements to the exit of Oswestry's Central Car Park. Work is expected to last approximately 4 weeks. The council apologises for any inconvenience this causes and thanks car park visitors for their patience while the work is completed. The exit will remain in use, however there will be some temporary changes during the works to ensure public and worker safety. This includes the temporary closure of the pedestrian crossing at the exit, the closure of some parking bays and redirection of traffic on the end lanes. Once complete, the exit will have clearer signage and traffic calming measures to enable vehicles and pedestrians to move safety through the car park. | | Love Oswestry Festival February 2023 Oswestry's newest arts festival makes a welcome return this week. From Valentine's Day and through half-term, Oswestry is hosting an eclectic mix of events closing with a family-friendly, twilight lantern parade through the streets of town from Festival square, through the park to the Bailey Head on Saturday, February 25th at 6pm. | | New town heritage trail and mini guide With support from Oswestry BID and Oswestry Town Council, OBT has produced 50,000 Heritage Trail and Mini Guides. The heritage trails will be available from the Tourist Information Centre and in map holders around town. 'While We Visit' will also distribute our leaflets across Shropshire to visitor centres and attractions. The new mini guide will be available from outlets within a two hour drive of Oswestry plus along the railway corridor from London to Liverpool and in some London stations.
