Urgent - application for 5 houses and changes to access in Olden Lane

Dear Blogger

David Spicer has kindly sent this very important update on the planning application for 5 houses on the site in Olden Lane, Shotatton Road.  Do please make your thoughts known to Shropshire Council Planning department.

Remember, all new houses bring more traffic through our village roads.

24/03767/OUT|Outline Planning Application for the Erection of 5 No. self-build dwelling son Land North of Olden Lane

There has been an important additional posting by the applicant in support of his  planning application for the development of 5 houses on the Land North of Olden Lane  (formerly the Sand Pit). It involves proposals for altering the highway arrangements on Olden Lane.

If permitted it will affect  significantly the village and the traffic using Olden Lane.

Several previous applications to develop this site have been refused.

The posting can be seen on Shropshire Council's Planning Portal at the following link

https://pa.shropshire.gov.uk/online-applications/centralDistribution.do?caseType=Application&keyVal=SKN0YGTDKPJ00

This additional submission has been allowed well out of time. The Shropshire Council Planning Officer has stated that

The previous extension of time has since lapsed, whilst the applicant prepared the additional highways information. There will be a further extension of time added to the file,  unsure as to what the new date will be at the minute as the decision will need to follow the scheme of delegation and possible committee determination.

For making comments including objections Shropshire Council website states that

There's a limited amount of time in which you can make comments. The statutory time given to neighbours to comment on an application is 21 days. It's very important to meet any deadline, or your comments may not be taken into account.

However, the Shropshire Council Planning Officer  has made clear that

Whilst we are only required to provide a 21-day consultation period for the public, Shropshire Council do not close the comment function and you can make comments right up until a decision is made.

If you want to make a comment about this application you can post it on the Shropshire Council Planning Portal at   https://next.shropshire.gov.uk/planning/applications/commenting-on-applications/

You may need to be persistent as there are frequent problems accessing the site.
