Shop, eat and be merry in our historic market town
Christmas in Oswestry is always special. Twinkly lights, award-winning traditional markets selling everything you could wish for, artisan markets, late night markets with live music, lovely independent retail shops and cafes, and a host of festive events for the whole family to enjoy.
Shoppers and visitors driving into Oswestry will also benefit from FREE weekend parking at Oswestry Town Council car parks in December. Oh yes, they will!
The free weekend parking at Central, Horsemarket and Smithfield car parks is Saturday 7 December and Sunday 8 December, Saturday 14 December and Sunday 15 December, and Saturday 21 December and Sunday 22 December. Town centre bus services are free on Saturdays throughout the year.

STREET MARKET
Wednesdays & Saturdays, 9am-3.30pm

A traditional street market selling a range of goods including fresh produce, cheeses, chutneys, crafts, everyday essentials, plants and more!
OSWESTRY CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON
Thursday 21 November, from 4pm
Bailey Head
The switching on of the Christmas lights marks the official start of Christmas in Oswestry. There will be carols, performances, festive fun, winter warming food and drink, and a special guest, HO, HO, HO! The Christmas Lights Switch On will be between 6pm to 6.30pm.
ARTISAN MARKET
Friday 29 November and Friday 20 December
Bailey Head and Bailey Street, 9am-3.30pm
Oswestry's Artisan Market, traditionally held on the last Friday of every month, brings together local producers and makers selling food, drink and crafts galore! December's market is extra special!
LATE NIGHT INDOOR MARKET
Friday 29 November and Friday 20 December, from 6pm
Powis Hall Indoor Market, Bailey Head
Experience the market after dark with live music, great food and drinks.
CHRISTMAS LIVE
Friday 6 December, from 5pm
Oswestry town centre
Fairground rides, giant snow globe, Santa's Grotto, live music, entertainers, market stalls, plus late night shopping across the town. To add an extra dash of sparkle as the evening draws to close, there will be low noise fireworks in Cae Glas Park.
Oswestry town centre
Annual Christmas Parade through the streets of Oswestry organised by Borderland Rotary Club. A joyous and unmissable parade sprinkling festive magic along the way. There will be festive trucks, colourful floats, music, dancing and entertainment. It'll be a cracker!
SANTA RUN
Sunday 8 December
Smithfield Street, race starts 9am
Hitch up your sleigh for Shropshire's largest 5k Santa Run and bring a flash of red to the streets of Oswestry with thousands of runners dressed as Santa to spread festive fun. Organised by Adrenaline Sporting Events, the event is for those aged 11 years up.
