A Night of Music Charity Concert in aid of Severn Hospice and Hope House - Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June 2026, 7.30pm Oswestry based singing group "Take Five" have announced their charity concert for 2026 which, this year, will be held at the Attfield Theatre (The Guildhall, Oswestry) on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th June (curtain up at 7.30pm) Formed 4 years ago to raise money for local charities, "Take Five" - Mark Lord, Kate MacDonald, Bekah & Tom Evans and Jonathan Roberts - have raised over £10,000 since coming together and are looking forward to another successful show this year. Mark and Bekah are both members of Attfield Theatre Group - you might recognise Mark as long-suffering 'Rene' in Allo Allo and Bekah as 'Debbie' from The Unfriend. The group got together when Mark turned 60, to raise funds for worthy local causes. Kate, Bekah, Tom & Mark had previously sung together in Oswestry Musical Theatre Company and Jon, a member of local band The Bartells and friend of Mark's, completed the line up. Previous shows have raised funds for Derwen College Charity, with added performances by students of the college. However, logistics for that to continue would not work this time - this year proceeds will be split between Hope House and Severn Hospice. A Night of Music will feature a wide variety of music and genres from Motown to Musicals, Country to Coldplay and many huge hits from the last 70 years. We guarantee there will be something for everybody and plenty of opportunity for audience participation! We are very grateful to have secured generous sponsorship from Berrys which will ensure that the money from every seat and raffle ticket sold goes to our chosen charities. We've also had some fabulous raffle prizes donated – top of which is a £200 voucher from Polka Dot Travel!
