St. John the Baptist school  FROST FAIR AND FARMERS MARKET

John the Baptist School have been preparing for their annual Frost Fair and Farmers Market with parents and children making Christmas crafts after school. We are holding our final session tomorrow and are in need of clean jam jars (no lids needed) and pine cones for our creations. If anyone has any, could you please either drop them off at school before 3pm tomorrow (Tuesday) or at Coton Cottage, School Road anytime (on the doorstep is fine).    Thank you, and I hope you will all come on 5th December to buy some lovely handmade decorations and gifts.

Booka Bookshop for presents

Can I just endorse again Booka Bookshop in Oswestry - I spent over an hour in there browsing yesterday - super magnetic bookmarks, gorgeous notebooks and pens, prints, games. ceramic herb pots, Audio CDs, calendars AS WELL AS books of course!  Themed gifts alongside every shelf of books - so clever and easy to find a really imaginative present - did most of my Christmas shopping in there - support your local independent shops _ USE IT OR LOSE IT as they say.

WANTED - Carol Singers!

RUYTON XI TOWNS CAROL SINGERS NEED YOU!

As you know, Ruyton-XI-Towns WI have done a village Carol Sing for many years. We have had a lot of support from everyone and the Severn Hospice has benefited from our efforts.

This year, we are hoping that others will join with us, as our singing is getting rather feeble!! We would appreciate some male voices as well as younger ones. Children would have to be accompanied by an adult.

We are meeting outside the flower shop at 6.30pm on Monday 15th December. If you would like to join us, please let Barbara on 260942 or Chris on 260594, know, or just turn up on the night. If you don't want to sing, then please come along to rattle the tins and knock on doors.

If you would like us to visit you to sing a special carol, then let us know. We follow different routes each year.

The only independent book shop in a town the size of Shrewsbury so do pay them a visit for that personal advice and guidance - and a coffee and a cake or a sandwich!

Ruyton Village Shop have jams, chutneys and biscuits with RUYTON XI TOWNS on the lable, just the thing for someone who lives outside the village, but  preferably close enough that you don`t have to post their present.
