The Dog - the future of the Talbot Inn

Hi everyone,

I have had an enquiry about what is going on at our local pub which has been closed for nearly two weeks.

As always, the chairman of our Parish Council has his eye on the ball and his ear to the ground!

Colin Case has told me
Joules, the Market Drayton brewery who own the pub, have said they are fully committed to keeping the pub open and when they take it back from Tony & Jess at the beginning of August they will be refurbishing in an extensive way.

It might be a good idea for many of us to write to Joules to explain what we thought was not right about how the pub has been run since they took over.  If no-one tells them what is wrong how can they sort out the problems!

So once again we have to sit back without a pub and hope for the best!   What they need, and I understand is very difficult to find, is a bloody good landlord - Try the Bradford Arms in Knockin and you will see what I mean.

Can you help?

A member of the Mailing List is looking for someone to commit his autobiography to a computer.

Now I am not sure what a typist/shortand typist is called these days but this chap has put some of his memories of long and fascinating life onto an ipad and more is to be dictated, to make his story ready for the printer.

Final editing, spelling, accuracy etc would be done by the gentleman`s wife.

Please contact me in the first instance so that I can add you to the business directory in case anyone else needs the same service.

Trip to Llandudno

Our Ruyton & Baschurch Lunch Club are booked for their Annual Outing to Llandudno on Tuesday 28th July.
We always hire a 29 seater from Lakeside and always have a few places spare. The coach is paid for from our monthly raffle profits. The coach costs the same whether full or empty, so we sell seats to non-Lunch Club Members for £6
Let me know if you are interested.
We leave Baschurch at 9:00 and pick up in Ruyton at 9:15
We get dropped at the Queen's Hotel and return for around 6:00pm
