AFTERNOON TEA INVITE FOR DIAMOND
ANNIVERSARY COUPLES
Shrewsbury couples celebrating 60 years of marriage in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee year are being offered the opportunity to join the town’s mayor for a special afternoon tea.
Couples are invited to attend one of two dates, on August 7 or September 26, at the Mayor’s Parlour at Shrewsbury Castle.
Tickets are free but attendance is limited to the couple celebrating their anniversary (extras cannot be provided for family members) and must be confirmed with the mayor’s secretary by July 31.
Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Keith Roberts, said: “I feel honoured to have been able to experience the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee during my mayoral year and would like to invite couples celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary to join me for an afternoon tea to mark both their, and Her Majesty’s, special year. The grounds of the castle provide a wonderful setting for such a memorable occasion.”
To confirm a place for one of the afternoon teas contact Carol Pullen, Mayor’s Secretary, on 01743 257655 or email Carol.pullen-stc@shropshire.gov.uk
