REMINDER

Get in the mood for a world wide spirit of Christmas - Tomorrow evening, Wednesday 19th November.

Market Hall jinges on November 19

Shrewsbury Market Hall will be filled with the soaring young voices of the
PEARL OF AFRICA Children’s Choir
and the tones of seven-piece jazz band Bluzone

for the first late-night shopping event of the season.

Gift stalls, restaurants and the Visual Art Network Gallery at the market will open until 9pm on Wednesday November 19, the night of the town’s Christmas lights switch-on.

Shoppers will receive complimentary mince pies and mulled wine. BluZone will perform between 6 and 7pm followed by the internationally-acclaimed children’s choir which is currently on UK tour raising funds in support of Ugandan orphans.

Market eateries will open late, including The Bird’s Nest Cafe, Mayuree’s House of Yum Thai café and takeaway, Spanish restaurant Café AleOli and The Market Buffet which will be serving a ‘festive treats’ menu including  Christmas pudding and brandy and luxury hot chocolates.

“The market will open right through until 9pm for shopping and for people to enjoy some hot food before or after the Christmas lights switch-on at 6.30pm,” said facilities manager Kate Gittins.

The Visual Art Network Gallery will be showcasing the talents of local artists and an
AFRICAN ART EXHIBITION and hosting a meet-and-greet social evening. There will also be a ‘Christmas in Shrewsbury’ art exhibition held throughout the market, with the judging being held at 8pm.

Stalls opening late will range from jewellery, gift, homeware, craft and art sellers to a bicycle shop, artisan chocolatier, food specialists and cake decorating and sugarcraft specialist retailer The Icing Tip.

The market will also open late on Wednesday December 17.
