Baschurch village hall

Apologies for the delay in sending this out, been away, but the appeal for support of the Village Hall is still the same.

Message from Alison Slater, Baschurch Village Hall.

Baschurch Village Hall is a vital part of our community and many of us use it for partys, weddings and other social events. It is the hub of out community which brings people together and the heart of our village.
Baschurch Committee members contrary to popular belief are not paid to keep the village hall going, but are all volunteers who care about this important facility and the villagers. We really want the hall to carry on for generations to come, but we now need community help. The committee are in crisis. In the last 18 months three of our long term member who have been on the committee for over 15 years have stepped down, because they have more than done their fair share of work over the years for which we have been very grateful. We are due to lose our treasurer (also a long term member), have been without a Vice Chairman for twelve months, and now sadly due to illness we are without a Chairman temporarily. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP RUN THE HALL OR IT WILL CLOSE! DO YOU CARE ENOUGH? It only involves attending approximately six meetings a year and assisting with perhaps three or four fund raising events a year. If we have enough volunteers this isn't a chore and can be a lot of fun! Please think about what the hall means to your community and what events you and your families have attended there over the years. Vandalism is a huge, costly problem for us generally at the hall, but if the hall were to be left unattended it will soon become an eyesore! DO YOU WANT THIS FOR YOUR HALL OR DO YOU WANT TO HELP? There are lots of ways you can help even if you don't want to become a committee member, by just attending a fund raising event, helping to sell tickets for the events or donating raffle prizes! Please seriously think about this problem, because it will effect the whole village. Don't think someone else will volunteer, because THEY DON'T!!! IT IS DOWN TO YOU! Our next fund raising event is NOVEMBER 21st at 7.00pm and is a FUN QUIZ NIGHT WITH FISH AND CHIP SUPPER. For more information and to purchase tickets, please speak to a committee member or Alison Slater on 01939 261465. We welcome your support, thank you.
