Hi everyone,
Here is a bit more Ruyton history for you - this time going back to our
village school in the 1870s - I never said I would keep things in
chronilogical order!
The piece by Irena White is taken from records on the web and other
sources of facts.
The piece by me is an extract from my 1986 book, `Ruyton XI Towns -
Unusual Name, Unusual History` and is the story of Walter Burr`s time in
Ruyton as taken from the school log books. I was able to work in the
old school on these invaluable records.
Those of us involved in local history research feel that the log books
should really be housed in the Shropshire Archives where they can be
digitised and be available to Everyone. We do worry about them still
being kept in the school.
