AN EVENING WITH JOHN McGUINNESS Join us for an evening in the company of motor cycling legend John McGuinness as he talks 'in conversation' about his life and racing career as we celebrate the publication of his long-awaited autobiography, Built For Speed. John McGuinness is the second most successful TT racer of all time with 23 TT wins, second only to the late, great Joey Dunlop. In 2007 he became the first man to break through the 130mph average speed barrier on the 37 mile plus Mountain Course. John's autobiography, Built For Speed, is published on 4th May. It tells the whole story, from his humble beginnings in Morecambe and getting his first bike at the age of 3, to working as a bricklayer and cockle fisherman before deciding to follow his dream, and finally to his many victories in the most dangerous sporting event on the planet. He tells of what it takes to be a champion in such an exacting sport, and to keep winning even though all logic tells you to stop – and when so many of your fellow racers are paying the ultimate price for doing it. We are thrilled to be hosting this event with John McGuinness just a couple of weeks before the 2017 TT Races.
